Las Roques, Venezuela - Carlos Salas

Las Roques is in northern Venezuela. It is an archipelago formed with a coral reef, and there are hundreds of tiny islands surrounded by blue water. I was there 3 or 4 times between 1980 and 1990. Once I flew there to meet one friend that had a sailing boat. He stayed there for about two and I just stayed there for a week, going around the different tiny islands in Las Roques.
It’s probably one of those places that not many people go to because it’s not easy to get there. The only way to get there is by boat or you can fly there, but there is a tiny airport for only small airplanes. It’s not a very popular place. But it’s a very beautiful place.
