My Watermark is the Atlantic Ocean, Florida.

The year was 1960, I was 13 years old and it was Christmas Day. We were visiting family in Miami, Florida and my brother, Jeff (age 9) and I were determined to go swimming for the first time in the ocean on Christmas Day. What a perfect way to celebrate, or so we thought. Our Aunt Goldie was dead set against it. She firmly stated, "It is too cold". I recall the temperature was about 70 degrees. We thought it was warm and had a fabulous time splashing around, flipping water at each other, and getting salt in out eyes while our Aunt stood watching us from the shore snuggly wrapped in a full length mink fur coat.
