My name is Steven Merch and I’m from Toronto but live in Orillia, Ontario.

Georgian Bay is the water body that influenced me. There are so many stories. I spent my life career around water, working on ships, mostly all over the world, but it all started in Georgian Bay. I spent my childhood out there, I still spend my summers there, my family spends our summers there. We used to go out and swim in the breakers off governor island, not far from Honey Harbour in Georgian Bay. That is where it all started.
