Niagara Falls, ON - Pamela Xu

My Watermark is Niagara Falls, Ontario.

As a Chinese immigrant, I landed in Canada two years ago and have been to many places in the country. I love all the forms of water in Canada, both the chilly cold water from the Banff National Park, and the rapidly running water from the Niagara Falls. When I went to the Niagara Falls, I took the ferry to watch the falls from below. There was mist floating above the ferry all the time, and sometimes the water could even pour into the ferry. Even though I wore a waterproof coat, I got wet from the very top of head to the very bottom of my feet.

There is a Chinese idiom “even water can penetrate rock if it tries.” I thought the water could actually shoot a hole in the rock when I saw such magnificent falls with such rapid water at that time. The falls impressed me at night again, and I saw them being coloured by beautiful lights in the evening. I had a really memorable time at Niagara Falls.
